This unique summit brings together people who believe in the power of community-rooted housing to strengthen belonging, expand housing options, and support people across all stages of life. Sunnyside Village will be there presenting on a panel of forming cohousing communities. This is an easy way to get an overview of several communities to learn about different styles of cohousing. We will be describing our community as well as ways we are working to make cohousing more affordable. If you're curious about cohousing or already on the path, this is one you won't want to miss.
The Cohousing US Summit in Seattle will also have opportunities for understanding what it’s really like to live in cohousing, for affordability options, communication and outreach, pocket neighborhoods, the opportunity to meet consultants and professionals who help develop cohousing and much more!

On May 13, our Members and Explorers have the opportunity to meet with the community's developer to see the finishes for the cottages. This is your chance to check out the look and feel of the homes, from materials to design details. These are the kinds of decisions that make cohousing special: you're not just buying a home, you're involved from the start in building your future neighborhood.

That's why we've been working on ways to make Sunnyside Village more accessible. One option we're excited about is co-buying, where two or more people purchase a home together and share the cost of ownership. It's not a new idea, but it's one that fits naturally with the cohousing mindset of sharing resources and supporting each other. That could mean partnering with a friend, a family member, or even a future neighbor.
