The Village

Building a cohousing community of brand new homes from the ground up is no small feat. It’s a labor of love that requires dedication, vision, and teamwork.

Our future village begins with people willing to say "yes" and take a chance on something new: the dream of building a close-knit community where neighbors look after each other and share in life's joys together.

Each member owns their private home, with many additional shared spaces like the Common House with a kitchen and guest rooms and a communal garden, orchard, walking paths, and more. Those who join us as founding members also enjoy the most flexibility in choosing their home and have a meaningful voice in influencing the direction and values of our shared neighborhood.

Connection Built Into the Landscape

Sunnyside Village is designed so that community grows naturally. Homes, gardens, and paths weave together to create a place where people cross paths through the flow of everyday life. The layout will make it easy to slow down, greet a neighbor, and feel part of something shared.

The Heart of the Village

At the center of the village will stand the Common House, a warm and flexible space for shared meals, celebrations, and gatherings. Neighbors will come together to cook, host workshops, or spend quiet time in good company. Gardens and open greens will surround the building, drawing people toward it as the heart of village life.

Paths, Gardens, and Green Space

Footpaths will connect every home to the orchard, organic gardens, and shared spaces. Cars will be kept to the edges so that walkways belong to people and play. Native plants will line the paths, creating a peaceful setting for walking, gardening, or reflection — a neighborhood where nature is part of daily life.

Where Nature Meets Home

The land is close to a saltwater estuary and protected woodland, filled with birds, trees, and open sky. The community will feel peaceful and rural while still close to Marysville and Everett. Residents will live in rhythm with the seasons, surrounded by the colors and calm of the Pacific Northwest.

A Village to Belong To

When Sunnyside is complete, daily life will move to a natural rhythm. Meals can be shared in the Common House, children can play along the paths, neighbors will work in the gardens. It will be a place where people live with intention, care for the land, and build something lasting together.
